some fancypants writers would have you believe that the “traditional short-form american essay†is 2,000 words. period. those same fancypants have said such things as, “you just can’t say anything in english with less than 2,000 words.†we respectfully (or not so respectfully, really) disagree. ahem. we think less is best, and that one can say a whole lot in a little space.
